Spring & Summer Volunteer Opportunities

The YMCA of Coastal Carolina is hosting several fun events this spring and summer, and we need your help making these events a success! Please fill out the form below with your volunteer interests, and we will be in touch with the details. 

Volunteer Opportunities:

Mud Run Construction Day

  • Date: April 22, 2023
  • Times: 8am – 12pm
  • Location: Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA
  • Duties: Helping clear the brush through the woods for the Georgetown Kids Mud Run
  • Wear: a hat, pants, closed-toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, and a comfortable t-shirt
  • Perks: Lunch provided 

Healthy Kids Day

  • Date: April 29, 2023
  • Times: 9am – 2pm (will have shifts)
  • All 3 Locations: Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA, Tidelands Health Pawleys Family YMCA, Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA
  • Duties: Helping to direct parking, greeting guests, helping set up + break down
  • Wear: comfortable clothing for outdoors 
  • Perks: Free YMCA Volunteer t-shirt

Prayer Breakfast

  • Date: May 4, 2023
  • Times: 6:45 am – 10 am 
  • Location: Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA
  • Duties: Helping to direct parking, greeting guests, helping set up + break down
  • Wear: Business casual attire
  • Perks: Breakfast

Georgetown Kids Mud Run

  • Date: June 10, 2023
  • Times: 8:00 am – 1 pm 
  • Location: Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA
  • Duties: Helping to direct parking, greeting guests, cheering on and directing kids on the course, helping at the water station, helping set up + break down
  • Wear: Comfortable clothing for outdoors
  • Perks: Free YMCA Volunteer t-shirt

Updated Hours for January 23 - 25, 2025

 

Due to the winter snow and potential weather conditions overnight, in order to keep our members and staff safe, all YMCA of Coastal Carolina center locations will close remained closed on Thursday and open limited hours on Friday. Saturday will resume normal operating hours.

  • Thursday, January 23, 2025: All YMCA of Coastal Carolina centers will remain closed. (This includes 24 hour access at the Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA.) 
  • Friday, January 24, 2025: Centers will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.  Please note services may be limited during this time.
  • Saturday, January 25, 2025: All YMCA of Coastal Carolina centers will resume normal operating hours.

We hope you and your family stayed safe during the storm. We will resume normal operations at all three YMCA of Coastal Carolina center locations at 11 a.m. today. 

  • Thursday, August 31: All three center locations will reopen at 11 a.m.
  • Friday, September 1: All three center locations will be open during normal hours.
 24-hour access will be unavailable to Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA during the times the center is closed but will resume as normal tonight.
