Y Camp is a safe, supportive environment where staff start with the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility as the foundation and design an exciting experience for campers with fun activities that focus on developing character and leadership skills. Whether you’re considering a traditional day camp or specialty camp, summer at the Y is an adventure you don’t want to miss.

Myrtle Beach Summer Camp Location Update:

We are still in the finalization process for an off-site summer camp facility, pending confirmation, located off 501 and Waccamaw Blvd, as our primary site. Our goal is to provide the best-equipped space for children to learn, grow, and thrive in their atmosphere during the summer months and we believe that this new location is the best outcome for the year 2025.

However, we cannot officially confirm this yet. If something were to change at the last minute, Summer Camp will be hosted on-site at the Claire Chapin Epps Family YMCA, but it is our hope and intention to be at the offsite location, if everything goes to plan.

We understand if you are wary of registering as location is a factor in registration, but we are doing everything in our power to have everything finalized VERY soon if everything goes to plan. With that being said, we will not be providing refunds this year on deposits if you choose to register ahead of that information confirmation as you could potentially fill up a space for another participant who waited for the confirmation, so please register thoughtfully.

Stay tuned for updates on our website for the latest information regarding the location information. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience but look forward to serving you this summer in whatever capacity.

What should my camper wear to camp?

Active/athletic clothing & closed-toe shoes that can get dirty or wet.

What should my camper bring to camp?

Wear and pack sunscreen, wear swimsuit on water days and swim days, pack towel, bring lunch & water bottle. Pack a change of clothes. Label EVERYTHING! Siblings should pack separate bags and lunches daily.

Do campers bring a lunch and snack?

Morning and afternoon snack will be provided at the Pawleys location. Campers will need to bring a lunch box daily.

What should my camper NOT bring to camp?

Any electronic devices, personal toys/trading cards, makeup, craft items, or anything of high value. Selling items is not allowed. Please no gum or candy.

What is the camper to staff ratio?

1 counselor to every 10-15 campers (varies by age group).

When are field trips?

Field trips like bowling, skating, Top Golf, etc., will be communicated at a later date. Campers will travel to the Y to swim at least twice a week.
