Homeschool Swim & Gym
Do you want your homeschooled child to get physically active and make some new friends?
Our NEW Homeschool Swim & Gym Program provides an opportunity for local, homeschooled children to come to the Y once a week to develop healthy habits, make new friends, and enjoy new forms of exercise and games! This 8-week program is designed to allow kids to sample a wide-variety of sports, learn water safety and swim skills, and other activities throughout the year. We focus on teaching the fundamental skills and rules of the game while instilling the YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility.
PROGRAM DESIGN
Weekly classes are broken into 2 segments, PE & swimming, each lasting 45 minutes in duration. Each week, we will focus on a different skill such as a particular sport or general fitness skills like strength, cardio, and flexibility. During the swim portion, participants will receive 30 minutes of swim or water safety instruction and 30 minutes of recreational swim.
