GRAND STRAND OPTIMIST CLUB HOSTS ANNUAL FISH FRY TO BENEFIT YMCA OF COASTAL CAROLINA

Crabby Mike’s Donates Food; YMCA Staff Volunteers to Serve

The Grand Strand Optimist Club is partnering with the YMCA to host its annual Fish Fry Fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the YMCA of Coastal Carolina. This year’s event will take place on November 11, 2024 from 4 pm – 7 pm at Crabby Mike’s, located at 290 Hwy 17 South N in Surfside Beach.

The fundraiser is a community-favorite, thanks to Crabby Mike’s generous donation of all the food and the dedicated YMCA staff who will volunteer as servers. Guests will enjoy a delicious spread of fish, fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies, knowing their meal supports vital YMCA programs that enhance the lives of individuals and families throughout the Grand Strand.

Tickets for the event are available for just $15 for adults, $12 for children, and $10 for veterans. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to support the YMCA of Coastal Carolina’s efforts to provide scholarships for youth programs, swim lessons, health initiatives, and community outreach.

“We are so grateful to Crabby Mike’s and the Grand Strand Optimist Club for making this event possible,” said David Byrd, CEO of the YMCA of Coastal Carolina. “Their continued generosity helps ensure the Y can serve more children and families in need.”

Delayed Opening on Friday, Sept. 27th

 

Due to the impending Tropical Storm and potential weather conditions overnight, in order to keep our members and staff safe, all YMCA of Coastal Carolina center locations will delay opening hours on Friday, September 27th, 2024.

  • Friday, September 27, 2024: All three YMCA of Coastal Carolina centers will open at 10 a.m.

We hope you and your family stayed safe during the storm. We will resume normal operations at all three YMCA of Coastal Carolina center locations at 11 a.m. today. 

  • Thursday, August 31: All three center locations will reopen at 11 a.m.
  • Friday, September 1: All three center locations will be open during normal hours.
 24-hour access will be unavailable to Tidelands Health Georgetown Family YMCA during the times the center is closed but will resume as normal tonight.
